Garden Maintenance

How swapping garden maintenance works

Garden Maintenance is part of Gardening & Outdoor Work on Swapster — the UK marketplace where members trade items directly instead of buying and selling for cash.

How does swapping a service instead of an item work?

Offer your time or skill (an hour of gardening, a tutoring session, dog walking) in exchange for something the other member is offering — it works the same as any swap, just with time as the currency instead of a physical item.

Do I need any qualifications to offer a service swap?

For general tasks (gardening, cleaning, moving help) no, but for anything involving children, vulnerable people, or specialist trade work, only offer what you're genuinely qualified and comfortable doing, and say so plainly in your listing.

How do I agree the scope of a service swap upfront?

Confirm exactly what's included — hours, tasks, and any materials needed — through messaging before you agree, the same way you'd agree condition on a physical item. Vague scope is the most common source of service-swap disputes.

Is childcare or pet care safe to arrange through Swapster?

Treat it the same as any arrangement with someone new: check ratings and swap history, meet beforehand if possible, and trust your judgement. Swapster facilitates the introduction, but the same care you'd take finding a babysitter or dog walker any other way still applies.
